When you go home thinking, “Today was a good day!”

Incredible day yesterday, and more milestones in the progress of our mission to help businesses to operate in a secure digital environment.

Firstly we welcomed our new security testers (pictured above) to the team. Working with Greenwich Bright we actively provide a stepping stone for students to gain experience in cyber security, and to take the first step in their careers.

Following this, we had a tremendous input from Shezhad Mirza from the Global Cyber Alliance on their work to prevent Systemic Cyber Risk. Their work around DMARC in particular is awe inspiring, and any organisation that is serious about protecting themselves and their customers should contact the GCA to partner with them. Its free, its effective and it demonstrates a collective response to the epidemic that is Cyber Crime.

At the same time, we were hosting a digital security workshop for small businesses that have suffered from online crime, and helped them to enrich their security.

As we moved into early evening, we launched our Market Place which provides access to security services and products delivered by our Product Partners. The level of support we are receiving from partners to help in our mission is fantastic and demonstrates that partnerships are the clear way forward if we are serious about making a difference. The Market Place goes live on the 6th June and is accessible via our website.

Finally our partners, stakeholders and members had a riveting ‘evening with an identity thief’. James Freedman showed us the tradecraft of an identity thief, scared everyone with the ease in which your identity can be compromised and then left us with sensible and pragmatic tips that make all the difference to protecting our identity details.

A hectic day, a fascinating day and the type of day that makes us proud to be doing the work we are doing. Long may it continue!
